Victorians can look forward to improved public access and safety along the state's coastline, thanks to the 2015-16 Coastal Environments Program.

Coastal Environments Program (CEP) - Public Access and Risk (PAR) aims to reduce the impact of coastal hazards. Previous works carried out through CEP-PAR have included ramp repairs, installation of fencing, and groyne improvements.

DELWP is seeking funding applications from coastal Crown land committees of management for projects of up to $150,000. Grant applications need to demonstrate that projects will reduce coastal risk by one or more of the following means:

  • Risk treatment
  • Risk context development
  • Risk identification, assessment and evaluation
  • Monitoring

Applications will be assessed in the context of statewide risk priorities. Maintenance or works deemed day-to-day management of a reserve are ineligible for CEP-PAR funding.

Applications must be received by 4pm Friday 14 August 2015 – guidelines are available below.

Those wanting to apply are encouraged to discuss their application with a DELWP Regional Services representative.
